DOMINO’S PIZZA TRIVIA

Domino's delivers 400 million pizzas a year (2007) that's a pizza (and an extra slice) for every man, woman and child in the United States - or more then 1 million pizzas a day.

Domino's drivers cover 9 million miles each week in the U.S. alone. That's about 37 trips to the moon every week. (I wonder who actually crunched the numbers to come up with this!)

History:
• In 1960, brothers Tom and James Monaghan borrowed $500 and purchased 'DomiNick's' pizza in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

• In 1961, James traded his half of the business to Tom for a Volkswagen Beetle.

• In 1965, Tom renamed the business 'Domino's Pizza, Inc.'

• In 1967 the first franchised Domino's Pizza store opened in Yipsilanti.

• In 2006, Domino's opened its 8,000th store in Huntley, Illinois and its 3,000th international store in Panama City, Panama.
