Great British Food Festival: Harewood House Food Festival

More than ‘just another food festival’, The Great British Food Festival combines the nation’s love of great food and drink with some of the country’s most treasured locations, providing a unique opportunity to explore new flavours and beautiful venues, all at the same time! Open 10am-5pm each day. Dog friendly.  Entrance ticket includes free on-site parking and free access to the gardens and grounds, below stairs area of the house and bird garden, normally priced at £12.50 per adult or £35 per family! Upgrade on the day to see the State Rooms as well for just £5 per adult or £12 per family!

Dartmouth, Devon, England
Our real aim is to showcase the best that the South West has to offer - from Severn & Wye Smokery (our Best in Show 2011) through to Heron Valley fruit juices, Well Hung meat and Bigbury Bay Oysters.  We're also celebrating the quality of our award-winning restaurants (The Seahorse, The Elephant in Torquay and the Millbrook Inn, South Pool to name but a few) and their amazing chefs.  It's probably true to say that South Devon has the most award winning chefs per square foot than any other part of the county (or is that just us being biased?!).

October 10-13, 2019 - Falmouth Oyster Festival - Falmouth, Cornwall, England
Falmouth Oyster Festival celebrates the start of the oyster dredging season, the diversity and quality of Cornish Seafood and in particular, one of the last remaining traditional oyster fisheries, dredging by sail and hand punt.  Each year, a cookery master-class from a celebrity chef, followed by a book signing opens the festival. Packed with cookery demonstrations by leading local chefs, oysters, seafood, wine and local ale, children's shell painting, sea shanties, a town parade, and live music, an oyster shucking competition, a Falmouth Working Boat race and marquees brimming with Cornish produce; the festival is a must for all oyster, seafood and maritime heritage enthusiasts!

October 12, 2019  Lincolnshire Sausage Festival at Lincoln Castle
Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England
Supported by Select Lincolnshire and Lincoln Colonia Rotary, this free event spread throughout the grounds of Lincoln Castle and spilling into Castle Square is the perfect opportunity to warm up with some tasty local food and drink so come along between 10am and 4pm.  Sausage making demonstrations and lots of stalls selling all types of produce - and an abundance of Lincolnshire Sausages to buy and eat or to take away and enjoy at home. Local chefs will be demonstrating a range of recipes.  A wealth of family entertainment.  Last year's festival saw 32,000 sausages sold, and organisers the Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia and Select Lincolnshire are hoping this year's will be even bigger and better.  Visitors will be entertained by The Europa Clowns, Matto and Polo, and there will be street music and entertainment from the Cosmic Sausages along with Mr Sausage who will be making appearances throughout the day in and around the Castle Grounds. Children’s cookery demonstration area in the Redhill Farm’s Marquee.

Following the success of last years event the Wells Food Festival will be held again this year in the historic Market Square in the centre of the city from 10.30am-4.30pm.

Southwell, Nottinghamshire, England
Every year, people gather to this very picturesque market town where the apple was first propagated more than 200 years ago from the garden of a cottage on Church Street.  The stunning Southwell Minster, a splendid cathedral with one of the finest Norman naves in Europe, will host a festival of food & drink and all things associated with Southwell’s Bramley Apple heritage. Morris Men performances and live music will accompany you as you wander through the streets of one of the prettiest towns in Nottinghamshire.  Also, visit the Saracen’s Head pub; formerly the King’s Head where King Charles I surrendered to a Scottish Army in 1646, marking the end of the Civil War.

October 19-20, 2019  Flavours Food Fest - Barnsley South Yorshire, England
Flavours Food Fest makes a welcome return to Elsecar Heritage Centre following its 2018 success. Packed full of foodie fun, music and live entertainment, it promises to be an action packed weekend for food lovers and families alike.  Michelin award-winning chef, Jean-Christophe Novelli, will be headlining over the entire weekend. He will be holding a meet and greet with fans and cooking up a storm in lively cookery demonstrations over the two days.  Over the weekend there will be an array of live entertainment from some amazing performers, with a music stage running over the weekend showcasing a fantastic array of musicians.

October 21-26, 2019  42nd Norwich Beer Festival - Norwich, England
Over 200 cask-conditioned Real Ales from Britain's independent brewers will be on sale, along with draught and bottled beers from Continental Europe.  There will also be a large range of traditional ciders and perries, with over 40 varieties from East Anglia, the West Country and elsewhere.

October 23, 2019 - Apple Day - Clovelly, North Devon, England
It is Apple Season – so we are holding our first Apple Day with lots of lovely apple crafts and activities.  You will see apple pressing by Gatcombe valley Juices outside the Visitor Centre, so please do bring a bag of apples, watch them being pressed and taste the fresh juice or if you wish, you can bring more for pasteurisation and bottling for which there will be a charge (£1.90 per 75 cl bottle).  The round shape of the apple with the great reds and greens makes the apple a perfect base for creating art. So enjoy some Apple Art with The Plough and either carve, sculpt, decorate or do all of them with your apple to enter the Apple Art Competition!  There will also be Live Music by "no rest for the fiddlers", apple bobbing, apple stamping, and especially for adults, apple cup making, which you can then use to enjoy a refreshing cider drink (available at the café bar) or perhaps some fresh apple juice! Clovelly Court Gardens produce, including a pick of pumpkins, will be on sale and Merry Harriers Garden Centre will also have some of their interesting products on display.

October 26-27, 2019  Suffolk Christmas Fair - Ipswich, Suffolk, England
A wide range of Christmas and seasonal goodies including art, craft, design, food and drink. Plus the chance to meet a pair of our very own Reindeer.  All taking place undercover in the Cattle Barns.

October 27, 2019  Vegan Festival Newcastle - Newcastle, England
The festival will attract thousands of people from all over the UK!  With around 150 companies exhibiting and around 2000 registrations expected, the Vegan Festival is set to be the regions first vegan and animal welfare festival.
