Frank C. Mars

(1882-1934)

Frank Mars founded the Mar-O-Bar Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1920, manufacturing chocolate candy bars.

He Introduced the Milky Way candy bar in 1923, which soon became the best selling candy bar in the U.S.

Later, the name was changed to Mars, Inc, and in 1929 the company moved to Chicago.  The Snickers bar was introduced in 1930.

Frank's son Forrest Mars joined the company in 1929, and Forrest took over after Frank's death in 1934.

The Three Musketeers bar was introduced in 1937.
