APPLE FRITTERS

Divine Kosher Cuisine: Catering to Family and Friends

Light, flavorful, perfect for Chanukah. Dairy
Yield: 40 Fritters


Ingredients
• 1 cup milk
• 1 large egg, beaten
• 1/4 cup butter, melted
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1 orange, juice and zest
• 1 cup peeled and chopped apple
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 3 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• Vegetable oil for deep frying
• Confectioners' sugar


Directions
1.
Preheat oil to 350°F in deep fryer or deep pot.

2. Whisk milk, egg and melted butter in bowl. Add sugar, juice, zest, apple and vanilla.

3. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Stir dry mixture into milk mixture until moistened.

4. Drop tablespoons of batter into hot oil. Fry until golden, turning to brown evenly. Remove and drain on paper towels. Cool and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
