REVIEW

If you’re the outgoing gregarious type then Two Friends Patio Restaurant is the place for you especially if you like meeting new people and singing. You see this is the place for Karaoke on the bar side of the restaurant. Frankly I’m not a fan of this bar sport since I first had the experience aboard a cruise ship some years ago, but one can’t understate its popularity and every so often a nice voice streams out the window onto the street.

It’s often difficult to find a place in Key West where tourists can mingle with locals in an amicable way. Locals like their bastions and generally stay away from downtown spots that are frequented by visitors, but the food, good service and, yes, the karaoke bring everyone in regardless of residency.

I think the draw for me is the physical openness of the place where a good view of the street can be had from any table and the best part of Key West is people watching. We have our eccentricities here and viewing the locals displaying them is half the fun. Add good basic fare and you have the chemistry for an enjoyable evening. I’m glad that Two Friends Patio isn’t directly on Duval Street, but just a bit above it on Front since the hustle bustle is often times heavy duty on Duval and is more bearable just off the main thorofare.

Parking is next to impossible near the establishment and the prices are just a bit of an edge up from where they should be for what you get on the plate. Everyone that I have come in contact with who works there was pleasant and ready to serve and even when it’s busy I got what I needed in a timely manner.

Altogether if you’re up for a good time in an energized environment then Two Friends Patio Restaurant is your kind of eatery and playground.
