YEAST EXTRACT

In French, a Marmite is a large covered pot (usually earthenware) used to cook stews.

Marmite is also the brand name of a thick brown paste made from yeast extract, usually spread on toast or sandwiches. Marmite is popular in England and Vegemite is a similar Australian product.
