ZAGNUT to ZYMOLOGY >  Zagnut Candy Bar

Philodendron Leaf

Zagnut candy bars, crunchy peanut butter covered in toasted coconut, were introduced in 1930.  Zagnut was acquired by Hershey's in 1996.

Hershey's, the largest U.S. candy maker, closed its plant in Reading, Pennsylvania in February, 2009. The factory produced such classics as Zagnut, York Peppermint Patties, and 5th Avenue bars. Production has been moved to a new factory in Monterey, Mexico.
