COPROLITE TRIVIA
Coprolite is the scientific name for fossilized dung (feces, excrement, droppings).
Recently (2008) some 14,300 year old fossilized human feces was found in Paisley Cave in eastern Oregon - new evidence in the debate over when the first humans arrived in North America. The Clovis people were long thought to have been the first to arrive here about 12,000 years ago.
Also, new comprehensive studies of Native American DNA lead scientists to believe that the first humans may have arrived nearly 18,500 years ago.
