NAVEL ORANGE

The Navel orange is a seedless (or nearly seedless) orange, with medium-thick rind, in which a second small, orange grows. The name originates from the fact that the blossom end where this second small orange grows, resembles the human navel.

The navel orange has thick, bright orange skin which is very easy to peel, and sweet meaty flesh. It is an excellent eating orange.

A variety of the Washington Navel orange is the principal orange product of Texas.
