Getting the Word Out

By Katharine Branham - info@katharinebranham.com

ile in a hurry for a show one night I pulled through a Burger King drive-thru for my son. He ordered a kid’s meal. After consuming the tasty treat, he found a stuffed animal. The animal was a mountain gorilla -- part of the endangered species series. The cool thing about the animals in this series is the inclusion of an attached tag with information about the animal. We were so hungry to get more information on the mountain gorilla that we went googling the next morning.

This is a great way to spread the word on a cause that needs attention. I hope more restaurants will consider an educational toy to help others think more deeply about issues of importance. Who really needs another action figure between the sofa cushions anyway?

It is up to us to encourage and teach our children about the world around them. Doing so will inspire others to join a crusade they may not otherwise have heard about.

There are countless causes that need highlighting such as national parks, trees and pollution. The endangered species is one now close to our hearts.
