SALAD GREENS

Storing Salad Greens:

Lettuce and other salad greens should be kept refrigerated, ideally between 32-36 degrees F.

Wash and shake all excess water from the leaves (a salad 'spinner' works great).

Store the dried greens in a tightly covered container or plastic bag and add a sheet of paper towel to absorb any excess moisture.

Don't store lettuce near apples, pears or bananas. These fruits release ethylene gas, a narural ripening agent with will cause lettuce to decay quickly and develop brown spots.
