TURNIP GREENS BAKED IN A PACKET

 

The Silver Spoon, Phaidon Press

Serves 4

Ingredients

• olive oil, for brushing and drizzling
• 2 1/4 pounds turnip greens
• 1/2 garlic clove, sliced
• juice of 1/2 lemon, strained
• salt and pepper


Directions

Preheat the oven to 400°F.

Cut four sheets of foil and brush generously with olive oil.

Divide the turnip greens among them and put a small slice of garlic in the middle of each.

Sprinkle with the lemon juice, drizzle with oil, season with salt and pepper and fold the foil over to enclose.

Place on a cookie sheet and bake for about 40 minutes.

Remove from the oven, let stand for a few minutes, then place on a warm serving dish
