QUARK

Quark is a tart cottage type cheese from Central Europe, especially popular in Germany.  Quark's taste and texture are described as a cross between cream cheese and Ricotta, or yogurt and sour cream.

A quark is also the name of a group of hypothetical particles in physics that form the basic constituents of hadrons.

'Quark' also appears in 'Finnegans Wake' by James Joyce: "Three quarks for Muster Mark!"
