There really is something in this conference for everyone concerned with understanding and managing soils.  The theme of the 2014 conference is Securing Australia's soils - for profitable industries and healthy landscapes.  This theme has been chosen as it reflects the vision of the National Soil Research, Development and Extension Strategy that is being released in 2014.  The strategy has been developed through extensive consultation with the soil science community and aims to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of investment in soil RD&E and facilitate collaboration across industries and organisations.  Improved soil RD&E assists farmers, land managers, policy makers, planners and other stakeholders better understand, manage, protect and benefit from the soil resource.
