Grouper

It’s that fish with
a very funny name.
That tastes so good
there’s nothing quite the same.

A local favorite
of Key Wester’s all.
It’s now on Outback’s menu,
you can get it in the mall!

Why they call it a Grouper
when it swims by itself.
Well I guess there are schools.
It’s not in tins on the shelf.

On a bun
or over sauce.
Tasty and delicious
it’s a win not a loss.

It’s full-bodied and meaty.
This blessing from the deep.
If purchased from the menu
believe me it isn’t cheap,

because the chef treats it with care.
It’s so special to us here,
that you can’t go wrong
baked, blackened or seared.

Please come to Key West
to its finest dining spot,
and order the Grouper.
You’ll love it a lot!

Doug Heyman, Key West, Florida
