Great Coffee Cakes, Sticky Buns, Muffins & More

by Carole Walter

Book Description
There is nothing better than being in a warm kitchen baking up scrumptious goodies on a cold winter day.  As the temperatures head south renowned baker and cookbook author, Carole Walter, has put together a collection of recipes sure to warm anyone’s heart. In her latest cookbook, 'Great Coffee Cakes, Sticky Buns, Muffins & More,' Carole provides 200 foolproof recipes perfect to make at home and enjoy with family and friends.

From pound cakes, coffee cakes, muffins, and other quick breads to scones, sweet biscuits, Bundt cakes, and babkas, Carole guides novice and expert bakers alike through irresistible treats and delights. To ensure success, Carole’s signature “At-a-Glance” boxes outline baking pan sizes, oven temperatures, baking times, and any special equipment needed. In addition, Carole includes extensive general information on outfitting home kitchens for baking, common ingredients, and techniques.

“Baking is a wonderful activity – it’s a relaxing outlet from daily stress, a project to share with kids, it’s fun, and best of all, the rewards make everyone smile,” says Carole Walter. “When the weather is cold, there is no place I would rather be than in my warm, cozy kitchen with something delicious baking in the oven.”

Great Coffee Cakes, Sticky Buns, Muffins & More includes nine chapters filled with enticing recipes, many of which can be made quickly.  Chapters include:
• Perfect Pound Cakes
• Home-style Coffee Cakes
• Muffins and Quick Breads
• Biscuits and Scones
• Strudel: then and now
• Coffee Break Bites

While Carole is known for her spectacular Danish recipes (which are included in the book) there is also the “Easy Does it Yeasted Coffee Cake” chapter as well as an entire chapter devoted to streusel crumb toppings. This is the perfect baking book to use for a cozy breakfast treat, an afternoon snack on a cold day, or a late-night dessert.
