VEGETABLES

STEWED CABBAGE

Take tender fresh cabbage, about 1 pound, cut pretty coarsely, put on to boil in boiling water and cook 15 minutes.  Then drain, put on sweet milk to cover and then stew until tender. Take 1 heaping tablespoonful of butter, mixed to a paste with 1 teaspoonful of flour, pepper and salt to taste.  Boil up and serve.

Sister Nancy Bahr, Damascus, Oregon.
