CAKES AND COOKIES
GINGER CAKE #2 Take 1 cup of baking molasses, 1 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of lard, 3 cups of flour, 3 eggs, and 1 teaspoonful of ginger. Beat this well, then add 1 1/2 teaspoonfuls of soda. On the batter now pour 1 cup of boiling water, and stir well. Bake in a moderate oven.
