May 29-31, 2020 Uluru Camel Cup - Yalara, Northern Territory, Australia
Join locals at this fun filled weekend of activities and experience a true Aussie outback style event. Coming into its 8th year, Uluru Camel Cup festivities begin at the atmospheric Outback Pioneer Hotel and Bar, with an optional Bough House Restaurant buffet dinner. Then bets begin, with the opportunity to bid on your favourite camel in a lively Calcutta, complete with live entertainment.
Saturday's celebrated Uluru Camel Cup races include the ever-popular Fashions on the Field, Outback BBQ, fun-filled activities and more; providing plenty to see, taste, and revel in for the whole family. Uluru Camel Cup culminates with a true blue outback style Ball. Set outdoors under the sparkling night sky with dancing in the dust and live entertainment, guests can enjoy finger food BBQ or choose to dine at the Outback Kitchen offering a sit-down outdoor buffet style dinner under the stars. The success of each Darwin Italian Festival has continued to grow since the inaugural festival of 2013, culminating with the national MEA Award of "best public event of the year" in Australia in 2015. To continue building on its previous festivals, there will be an emphasis on celebrating all that is Italian within the community. The exhilarating mixture of food, drinks, art, culture and entertainment for all ages will create an authentic Italian feel. IFA gathers local businesses, school groups, entertainers, and the community to create the true essence of Italy, right here in Darwin. This event provides an opportunity for Italian businesses from across the Northern Territory to showcase their products and services to the Darwin population, with a vested interest of promoting our Italian community. This year the Darwin lions beer can regatta will be held at Mindil beach, tides are good this year with a high at midday 5 metres an a low of 2 metre at 2000 ( 8pm). Events kick off at 10am till 5 pm, Sandcastle, running events, thong throwing, water events and team event as well. We have an entry for the: Best soft drink can boat - Best beer can boat - A miscellaneous class - Henley on Mindil - Battle of Mindil - As well as other events on the day.
