CAKES AND COOKIES

BUTTERCUP CAKE
 

 Take 3/4 cup of butter, 1 1/2 cups of sugar, yolks of 8 eggs, 1 whole egg, 1 cup of sweet milk, 2 cups of flour, 1/2 teaspoonful of soda, 1 1/2 teaspoonfuls of cream of tartar, 1 teaspoonful of lemon essence.
Golden frosting: Beat the yolks of 3 eggs very light and stir in powdered sugar until stiff enough to spread. Flavor with vanilla.
