HEALTHY FOOD CHOICES - TEAS

ALCIE MERRITT: Now I am going to talk to you about teas. Teas are actually considered a super food because they are very high in antioxidants. And antioxidants help reduce the free radical damage to cells.
Other health benefits of tea: it helps reduce your risk of coronary heart disease; reduce your risk of cancer; it has also some connection between reducing your risk of Alzheimer's disease. So teas are very, very good for you and very beneficial. Some healthier choices for teas, all teas are healthy but you hear a lot about green tea.
Green tea is a very concentrated antioxidant and great to add into your diet daily. So some things to remember about tea, a variety of teas are good and they are very, very high in antioxidants. You also want to try to have about three cups of tea a day to get the maximum benefits.
The longer you steep your tea in the hot water the more it is exposed to all the vitamins and minerals and antioxidants. You can also sweeten your tea with honey versus like refined sugars. And tea is just a wonderful thing to add and has lots of health benefits.
