	Philip Danforth Armour (May 16, 1832 - January 6, 1901) Philip Danforth Armour was an American industrialist and pioneer in the use of refrigeration and meat canning. Armour & Co. helped make Chicago the meatpacking capital of the world, and Armour & Co. became the largest meatpacking company in the world.
