Mollie Katzen

(1950-)

Mollie Katzen is best known as the author and illustrator of the ground-breaking classic vegetarian cookbook, ‘Moosewood Cookbook’ (1977), which was named to the James Beard Foundation's Cookbook Hall of Fame in 2007. 

She was one of the original group that founded the Moosewood Restaurant in Ithaca, New York, the home of Cornell University and Ithaca College. She is widely credited with bringing vegetarian cooking into the mainstream. 

Ms. Katzen is listed by the New York Times as one of the best-selling cookbook authors of all time, and has over 6 million cookbooks in print.  Her other popular books include ‘Mollie Katzen's Sunlight Café’, ‘Mollie Katzen's Vegetable Heaven’, and ‘Eat, Drink, and Weigh Less’. She lives in Berkley, California.
