LADEW TOPIARY GARDENS
MONKTON MARYLAND
Named the "most outstanding topiary garden in America" by The Garden Club of America, Ladew Topiary Gardens has a variety of themed gardens surrounding a central terraced area and outlined by tall, sculptured hedges. Major features include an aquatic garden with waterlilies, two ponds, a gazebo, an azalea garden with over 300 varieties, a children's garden and conservatories with seasonal displays and special exhibits. The highlight of Ladew Gardens is the twenty-two acre topiary garden. Shrubs are shaped as a pyramid, staircase, birds and animals. One of the favorites is a representation of a fox hunt with dogs and a hunter on horseback.
