RECIPES FOR PIES

 LEMON PIE #11
 
 
 Take 2 cups of white sugar, yolks of 4 eggs well beaten, 3 tablespoonfuls of cornstarch, 2 tablespoonfuls of butter, juice and rind of 2 lemons, 2 1/2 cups of boiling water. Let thicken over a slow fire, pour the mixture into baked crusts. Beat the whites of the eggs, add 4 tablespoonfuls of sugar. Spread on top of pies and place in the oven till brown.
