RECIPES FOR PIES

LEMON PIE #9
 
 
 Take 1 grated lemon, 1 pint water, 1 egg, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup sugar syrup, 1 tablespoonful of flour, then cook 2 minutes. Then divide in 5 ordinary-sized pie plates lined with pastry. Dough for top: Take 1 cup of white sugar, 1 teaspoonful soda, 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup sour milk, flour to make stiff, roll and cut in strips.
