CAKES AND COOKIES

GRANDMOTHER’S GINGER COOKIES
 

 Take 1 quart of molasses, 1 pint of buttermilk, 1/2 pint of lard; have all warm, and mix 3 tablespoonfuls of soda with buttermilk, 1 tablespoonful of ginger; stir in 6 pints of flour. When cold, roll. Wash with beaten egg before baking.
